The Spanish Inquisition (jan 1, 1481 – jul 15, 1834)

Description:

The Spanish Inquisition begins in Spain, implementing Catholicism as the forced religion. Where there was once conversos who were hiding their faith, the Inquisition sought to convert people by force. Conversos still existed but they were forced to hide in the face of greater consequence of being anything other than Catholic. This would be implemented in countries under Spanish colonialism, such as Mexico. Depicted is Catholic monks torturing a non-catholic prisoner.
