Description:
Hatshepsut was Egypt's first female pharaoh. Egyptian art and architecture flourished. She was also known for encouraging trade. One of her greatest achievements was her rise to power. It started out with her sharing the rule with her male relatives, but soon she became a sole leader. Hatshepsut encouraged trade and one of her biggest trade expiditions was to the kingdom of Punt.
