Era of Good Feelings 1815-1825 (jan 1, 1815 – jun 11, 1825)

Description:

The war of 1812 led to feelings of patriotism and nationality. The war of 1812 had also demolished the Federalist party. The election of 1816 was the last time a Federalist ran for office. The Era of Good Feelings was named such due to the dominance of the Democratic-Republicans in politics as the time was filled with James Monroe and James Madison, both Democratic-Republicans, being in office. However, a new political system was soon going to take the slack the Federalists had left behind.

The image depicts the Era of Good Feelings. Even though it seems as though the time was full of national unity as the War of 1812 had just ended, the US instead had increasingly tense political rivalries between factions.
