Adams life (0h 49min, jan 6, 4594 y BC – 0h 49min, jun 6, 3664 y BC)
Description:
Adam, the first human male. Created on the sixth day of creation, and had many unrecorded sons and daughters in his lifetime, though Cain and Abel were recorded. Seth was another of his recorded sons, who Adam had when he was 130 years old.
Adam died at the age of 930. It is not recorded when his wife Eve died.
The convention of writing a genealogy was an ancient way of recording time, like the concept of a kings list. It seems strange to us today, since we record time from a point in history, but that in iself is like a kings list chronology, because it's based on the kingship of Jesus Christ, who is alive forever. And in the beginning of time, this is the most straightforward way to do it.
The genealogy records the name of the person in the generations, how old they were when they had a particular son in their lifetime, and how old they were when they died. Then the focus moves to that son, and it's recorded how old he was when he had one of his sons, to be mentioned next in the chronology, and so on. Since Adam was created on the sixth day of creation, and creation only took 6 x 24-hour periods of time, we can backtrack in time using this chronology system to determine the year of Adam's creation, and hence determine the year that the universe itself was created.
