Oregon Treaty (June 15, 1846) (jun 15, 1846 – jun 15, 1846)

Description:

Land from present day Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and parts of land purchased from present day Montana, Wyoming, and British Columbia. Spain and Russia had given up their claims on the land, but Britain and America still claimed part of the land. They decided in the American Convention of 1818 to share the land, but when James K Polk was elected e put an end to sharing the land and created a border between Britain and America on the 54, 40 latitude line.
