In 1919, incredible stress led to Wilson experiencing a series of strokes. He was left partially paralyzed and almost blind, but stayed in office until 1921. He relied heavily on his wife Edith Bolling Galt, a descendant of Pocahontas (!!!), for help, leading to her nickname as the “Presidentress.”Added to timeline:
