Mexico's Ban on US Immigrants to Texas (apr 6, 1830 – apr 6, 1830)

Description:

Many Americans moved to Texas because the Mexican government offered large tracts of free land to settlers. However, settlers had to obey this law, but instead, they ignored them. This lead to Mier y Terán creating a series of laws passed on April 6, 1830 under President Anastasio Bustamante which prohibited any further immigration from the United States to Texas. This ban caused a severe halt to US immigration to Mexico.
