Missouri Compromise (mar 3, 1820 – mar 3, 1820)

Description:

This compromise requested for admission to the Union as a slave state, which disrupted the delicate balance between slave states and free states. When Missouri was beginning to become a territory, Representative James Tallmadge of New York proposed an amendment that would ultimately end slavery there. However, this effort was defeated.
