Bleeding Kansas (jan 1, 1855 – jan 1, 1861)

Description:

Bleeding Kansas was a period of violence which basically led up to the Civil War. It was a direct result of the Kansas Nebraska Act. It was between people who were for slavery and people who were against and things got extremely violent during these times. This event created intense tensions just due to the amount of fighting and violence it caused, which greatly increased sectionalism.
