Mexican American War (apr 25, 1846 – feb 2, 1848)
Description:
The Mexican American War was ultimately significant because it gained new lands such as California, Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, and Wyoming. This huge land gain raised the issue again between whether slavery would be allowed or not. This increased sectionalism, because obviously people in the South would want the new states to have slavery and people in the North would be against slavery.
