Seneca Falls Convention (jul 19, 1848 – jul 20, 1848)
Description:
The first-ever women's right conference in America, it launched the women's suffrage movement. It was organized primarily by Elizabeth Cady Stanton and passed 11 resolutions, the most controversial one being women's suffrage. Many in the United States did not agree with the Sentiments declared, and this contributed to divisiveness prior to the Civil War.
