Bostandyk uprising (sep 27, 1929 – sep 30, 1929)

Description:

The Bostandyk Uprising of September 27–30, 1929 - a protest of the residents of the Bostandyk District of the Syr-Darya District of the Kazak Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic (now in Uzbekistan ) against heavy taxation and violent actions of the Soviet authorities during the grain procurement campaign. The organizers of the Bostandyk uprising, in which about 500 people participated, were T. Musabayev and U. Mailybaev. In the battle at the wintering of Brichmoll, the Basmachi detachment of I. Chanybekov came to the aid of the rebels. The uprising was suppressed by an OGPU detachment , 50 people from the rebel were killed, 2 were sentenced to death, 36 were sentenced to 10 years in prison camps, 7 were sent and a link to 5 years.
