Reading Method (Situational Language Teaching) (may 12, 1920 – oct 25, 1930)
Description:
- Applied linguistics systematized the principles proposed earlier by the Reform Movement and so laid the foundations for what developed into the British approach to teaching Engish as a FL.
- The Reading Method was similar to the traditional Grammar-Translation Method and emphasized the transference of linguistic understanding to English. This method fouses more in silent reading for comprehension purposes.
