Nazi Genocides (jul 1, 1939 – apr 1, 1945)

Description:

A series of genocides in which some 2.5 million ethnic Poles, 6 million European Jews, and up to 13.7 million civilians in the Soviet Union were killed by Adolf Hitler's Nazi Germany and its collaborators. The victims of the Jewish Holocaust included 1.5 million children and represented about two-thirds of the entire Jewish population of Europe. Other victims include non-Jews targeted based on ethnic or biological factors, such as Romani, as well as the mentally and physically disabled. In the Soviet Union, civilians killed in reprisals the partisan war account for a major portion of the deaths there. Nazi Germany also had a policy of forced confiscation of food that resulted in the famine deaths of an estimated 4.1 million Soviet civilians.
