Potato Blight/Famine (sep 13, 1845 – jan 1, 1849)
Description:
The Great Famine, or the Potato Blight, was a period in Ireland between 1845 and 1849 of mass starvation, disease, and emigration, mainly due to a fast spreading disease of potatoes, the main food of the Irish peasants then, and poor governing by the then ruling British.
