The Warsaw Pact (6h 46min, may 14, 1949 y – jul 1, 1991)

Description:

The Warsaw Pact was a political and military alliance between the Soviet Union and multiple Eastern European countries created to counteract the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. After the Federal Republic of Germany joined NATO, the Soviets feared a more powerful NATO so they rearmed West Germany hoping to develop a worthy competitor to NATO. During the 1980’s, the countries apart of the Warsaw Pact began changing politically which eventually left the pact ineffective. East Germany later left the pact to reunite with West Germany. Once the Soviet Union fell, the Warsaw Pact dissolved as well. This pact is coded red because the Soviet communist party was successful in standing up to NATO and the Soviets controlled the majority of the pact’s operations as well. The Warsaw Pact was significant because this showed communist and Soviet dominance over the Western powers for the rest of the war.
