Industrialisation (jan 1, 1890 – jul 27, 1914)
Description:
Wilhelm was jealous of the power and dominance of Britain militarily and industrially - especially as George V was his cousin. He increased industrial infrastructure and the armed forces and by 1900 Germany had the strongest economy in Europe and dominated in electronic, iron, steel and chemical sectors.
The industrial success made many businessmen very rich and they became close to the Kaiser and so had political influence.
