Vietnamese Boat People (jan 1, 1975 – jan 1, 1990)
Description:
Following the Vietnam War, over 2 million Vietnamese fled their country, often on boats, hence the name. Developed countries agreed to resettle these people within their respective borders as surrounding Asian nations which the boat people migrated to began to refuse to take on more refugees.
