Tokugawa Period 1603 CE - 1867 CE
The Tokugawa period was the final period of
traditional Japan.
Some call it the pinnacle of Japanese art as it
flourished during this period. It was a time of
peace, political stability, and economic
advancement under the shogunate.
However, with that peace came strict
practices to maintain social
order. Tokugawa Iemitsu's idea to isolate
Japan during this period proved to have
adverse effects on the progress of
technological developments, as they had
missed out on imp (mar 19, 1603 – jul 19, 1867)
