Augustus Caesar was a very significant part of the Roman empire. He not only lead Rome to the Pax Romana, which was a 200 year period of peace in Rome, but he was a very strong military leader as well. The Pax Romana gave Rome the time it needed to recover from past wars, and also make innovations in the arts and in culture.
