Nuremberg Trials (sep 22, 1902 – nov 16, 1936)

Description:

The Nuremberg Trials were a series of tribunals held by Allied Forces following the defeat of the Axis. The purpose of the Trials was to prosecute and punish those in Nazi Germany who had violated international law and committed various war crimes and crimes against humanity. Though many officials committed suicide or fled to Argentina before their hearings, the court also prosecuted and executed numerous Nazi officials. The Trials would play a large part in the development of international criminal war, as well as serving as a model for the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the Geneva Convention.
