February Revolution in Russia (mar 8, 1917 – mar 16, 1917)
Description:
The February Revolution occurred as a result of the dissatisfaction with the tsar in Russia. Discontent with the tsar grew because of Russia's role in WWI and the tsar's resistance to popular involvement in government. In March, violent street demonstrations occurred in Petrograd in protest. The revolution resulted in the abdication of the tsar and the declaration of a provisional government.
