Sino-American War (apr 16, 2033 – jun 16, 2035)

Description:

The first conflict between major world powers in nearly a century. What began as an escalating series of cyber attacks resulted in an aerial dogfight over the South China sea, and the sinking of a US destroyer. Unlike the skirmish 13 years earlier, the conflict continued to spiral. As the war went on, Japan, Australia and India would end up joining the conflict, along with much of Southeast and Central Asia. Most of Europe remained neutral, with the exception of the United Kingdom. The war was fought for 3 years before a ceasefire was signed. Resulting from the conflict were nearly 300,000 dead, but virtually no territorial changes. As a long term consequence though, the underwhelming performance of the Chinese military and the destruction of key infrastructure further destabilized the country
