Montgomery Bus Boycott (dec 5, 1955 – dec 20, 1956)
Description:
4 days after the arrest of Rosa Parks after her refusal to surrender her seat to a white person. Since that, flyers were sent to many white people in Montgomery asking them to carpool, walk but most of all avoid the bus. This proved effective enough to cause major economic losses for the bus company, so that they integrated buses.
This spurred on the Civil Rights movement as now equality was presented on buses which meant that equality between blacks and whites was possible.
