Influences in School (jan 30, 1933 – may 7, 1945)
Description:
Ruth was a kindhearted student, yet a dedicated Nazi follower. She immediately dropped all of her Jewish friends simply because Hitler had said to, and she reported anyone who didn't do the same. Ruth followed orders blindly. "When Hitler actually came to power and the word went that students of Jewish background were to be isolated... Ruth actually came around and apologized to those of us to whom she was no longer able to talk." Hitler didn't want his followers to develop relationships with Jews because he didn't want them to get to know Jews as people. In his mind, the Jews were the enemy. Friends of Jews would know that's not true and would not only stop following Hitler, but might even try to throw him out of office.
