What Defines a Jew (jan 30, 1933 – may 7, 1945)
Description:
The Nazi party continuously passed laws that forbade relationships among Germans and Jews. They defined Jews as those who had parents or grandparents who were Jewish or married one. “Being a Jew was no longer a matter of self definition or self identification... who you were no longer depended upon you.” Hitler wanted Germany to be populated by pure Germans alone. He passed laws to ban Jew-German relationships to avoid the creation of half Jews, or “Mischlings”. He defined Jews as those who have Jewish relatives so that it would apply to more people, and more people would have to be banished.
