War on the Bloodwild (jan 1, 1509 – jan 1, 1514)
Description:
A short war, due to the amount of mages that had come from the Old Lands.
When the attack on Dilligence occurred, the Sunborn leader, Varidian Locelyn, ordered his people to retreat back to Dusklight, which was more easily defendable, and sent couriers eastwards through the Vourenkinn Veys to inform the crown at Sunrise of what had transpired. In his letter, he also called for aid in fending off against the natives, but when he couriers returned to him nearly a Cycle later Varidian learned that King Dovynn in his fickleness had lost interest in the western campaign about a half a decade past, and that no armsmen would be sent across the land on such a long trek to "fight addled men with sticks and stones".
On that day, consumed by great anger, Varidian Locelyn read the King's reply to his fellow expeditioners, and it said that all wept on Dusklight.
The war needed be fought without aid, and as it turned out, no aid was needed at all.
The Redfolk capital was captured by a force of one hundred mages and armsmen, and the blockade set up on the course of the Rought as well as the fact that the Redfolk of the lower canyon were entirely unprepared to fight an enemy from the north meant that the later cycles of the war saw little conflicts, excepts for a few skirmishes.
When the Redfolk surrendered after four cycles of strife, they swore to follow Varidian Locelyn as if he were a God King, and with their aid he founded a new kingdom , naming himself its Red Lord.
