Description:
Another member of the PAN, Calderon won the election with 0.56% of the vote. His opponent, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, declared the election was rigged and incited protests all around the country. A partial recount ensued, and Calderon took office in Dec 1. He is known for his war against drug cartels, and was the first of many presidents to go after them so aggressively.Sources:
