France invades Algeria (jan 1, 1830 – jan 1, 1847)
Description:
In 1830, Charles X sent out on a military venture to Algeria to increase nationalism in France. They were successful in the first few weeks of battle, having taken over the capital city, but Algeria revolted and it resulted in a longer and more intense war than planned. In 1847, the French finally reigned victorious, and it marked the rebirth of French imperial expansion.
