Description:

The American Revolution traditionally began with the Stamp Act Congress which was formed in response to the Stamp Act, an act of Parliament that put a tax on paper documents via a stamp that the buyer had to pay for. The Revolution can be distinguished from the Revolutionary War which began in 1775 with the first active battle at Lexington and Concord, and it all ended with the Treaty of Paris in 1783 establishing the United States of America.
