Went to University of Gottingen in 1860s
Studied under Virchow in Berlin
Early 1870s worked in a lab in Wollstein
Did in depth study on Anthrax: Saw that when the organism started drying out and decaying, the the filament will fragment into spores, forming into living organisms
1876 demo in Breslau: One germ = one disease
Koch investigated a glittering potato slice, seeing that when a microorganisms lands on it, it starts forming clones
Pioneered counterstaining of tuberculosis bacilli in 1881
1882 he had a showcase of microscopes showing numerous types of organisms
Discovered that TB and anthrax were caused by a bacilli
Viewed Egyptian cholera patients, collected samples, figured out a way to isolate and culture it and place it back in organisms
Created Koch's postulates for immunization
