Spanish Conquest of the Incas (jan 1, 1532 – jan 1, 1572)
Description:
The Spanish conquest of the Inca Empire really began when they started to explore Mesoamerica, but the event that started it all was their capture and execution of the Sapa Inca, the Incas’ leader. With permission from the Queen of Spain, explorer Francisco Pizarro began to conquer the Incas. This is important because it is an example of one of the greatest American civilizations falling to the hands of the Europeans. (4.3)
