Rough dates for the progressive era, an era in which people optimistically looked at the U.S. and argued for structural social changeperiod of widespread social activism and political reform across the United States
The main objectives of the Progressive movement were eliminating problems caused by industrialization, urbanization, immigration, and political corruption.
One of the changes of the era involved a greater role for the government in securing freedoms
