Reign Of Akbar (feb 11, 1556 – oct 27, 1605)

Description:

Akbar, the grandson of Babur, ushered in an era of tolerance in the Mughal empire. Under his reign, the Jizya was abolished, Hindus were given many rights, and communities of all religions were encouraged to form. Akbar himself practiced a mix of various religions and eventually created his own religion based on his beliefs known as the “divine faith.” In addition to his tolerant policies, Akbar also created a powerful centralized government and a powerful military. Akbar’s successors did not share his tolerant views, however the empire did survive for generations, due to Akbar’s government and military. (4.2)(4.3)
