Description:

People became more close to their feelings and their surroundigs. They did not only expressed their love feelings but also other feelings towards nature and other humans as well. This was mirrored in litterature.

The Romantic period also featured significant innovations in the novel form like the Gothic fiction.
New inovative types of texts with more imagination, for example Mary Shelley's book about the scentist Frankenstein and his monster.

Mary Shelley was an famous American writer as well as Edgar Allan Poe. In 1789 the declaration of independence was sign and America was considered a united country, therefore the writers from America got more attention than before.

Other famous writers from this period was:
Mark Twain, an American writer and reporter that is most famous for his work The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn about a young boy and Jim, a slave. Twain is famous for his humor and his storytelling skills. His other best known book is Tom Sawyer.
