Ammaron (jun 26, 155 – jan 10, 321)
Description:
Son of Amos I, brother of Amos II. He was the last record keeper in the line of Alma and, under the direction of the Holy Spirit, hid the records from the rest of the world.
However, he went to the young boy, Mormon, and left him with the command to retrieve the plates when he was 24 years old. Mormon was 10 when he was given this command by Ammaron.
After telling this to Mormon Ammaron disappears from the record, and thus we are given no direct information for his birth or his death. However, there are a few things I think we can estimate.
First, it is likely that he was younger than his brother. It is also true that he had to have been born when his father was still young enough to have children. Also, it is likely that he hid the records and gave the command to Mormon as he knew that he would soon die himself.
So, taking all this into consideration, I place his life as follows.
I list him being born in 155. His father would have been 97, and his brother would have been 12. I place his death in 322, two years after he hid the records. This makes him 167 years old when he died.
