First Crusade (apr 5, 1095 – sep 9, 1099)
Description:
The first crusade was declared by Pope Urban II in 1095. The Crusade's main objective was to retake Jerusalem. However, since the Pope declared that everyone who fought in the Crusade was exempt from their sins, looting and killing civilians also occurred. The first Crusade was the only truly successful crusade for the Europeans. This relates to 3.2 because it is the relations between Europe and the Middle East
