Washington's Presidency (apr 30, 1789 – mar 4, 1797)
Description:
This was the time period of the establishment of the United States as a nation. By Washington's actions during the Whiskey Rebellion, proved that the new nation would enforce federal law. Encouraged the U.S. to stay neutral in European conflict. Established the precedents of a presidential cabinet and a two-term limitation on the presidency.
