Ruhr Occupation (jan 11, 1923 – aug 25, 1925)

Description:

French troops occupy the industrial Ruhr area. Germany's army, weakened by the Versailles treaty, cannot fight back. Instead, the government urges for a passive resistance movement, and the workers go on strike.
The government then had to pay the workers. Coupled with existing inflation, this led to the 1923 Hyperinflation Crisis.
