George Cabot Presidency (dec 5, 1816 – apr 18, 1823)

Description:

Riding the wave of dissatisfaction following the Great Lakes War, the Federalist party is able to successfully pull off their first victory since John Adams. As the Federalists felt they needed a more moderate candidate, George Cabot is chosen to run.

While in office, many of the proposed ammedents of the Hartford convention are largely ignored, However, one would be passed as most states were in favor of it; That being the requirment of each president to be from a different state than his predecessor. A provision directly aimed at the dominance of Virginian polititions in the Presidency.

While he manages to win a second term in 1820, he would die at the age of 70 in 1822, with his vice president, Timothy Pickering, taking over his Term until 1824.
