Mexican Revolution (Civil war) (nov 20, 1910 – jun 27, 1920)

Description:

Mexican citizens were unhappy with the dictatorship of Porfirio Diaz, who favored the wealthy landowners and industrialists. Over time, Diaz continued winning elections because he would either kill or send his opponents to jail. Many of the people were peasants who worked on wealthy landowners land. When Madero announced his candidacy, Diaz had him arrested. When Madero was released, he went to Texas seeking help. Pascual Orozco and Pancho Villa mobilized their ragged armies and began raiding government garrisons. In the south, Emiliano Zapata waged a bloody campaign against rural political bosses. Diaz was forced to resign and Madero was declared president. Zapata turned against Madero because Madeor failed to effect the immediate restoration of land to dispossessed Indians. Orozco was also dissatisfied and led a revolutionary movement in the north. U.S government turned on Madero as well. Revolution broke lose once again. Leader after leader, people weren't satisfied and hell kept breaking lose.
