Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) (apr 5, 1933 – may 20, 1942)

Description:

The CCC was a federal relief program created in the United States in 1933 for unmarried men aged 18-25. They took men from relief rolls and sent them into the woods and fields to plant trees, build parks, build roads, and fight soil erosion on federal lands. These young men made thirty dollars each month (one dollar per day), and each month they would send their earnings to their families. Overall, these young men left an amazing legacy on outdoor recreation areas. The CCC was able to provide jobs for two-million-five-hundred-thousand people over the duration of ten years.
