Soul (may 18, 1952 – jul 11, 1969)

Description:

This genre had both male and female vocals but this mainly used a lot acoustic instruments like saxophones, trumpets, and trombones. Also piano, bass, guitar etc... not much in terms of productions were that notable however they used Direct to mono recording. Some effects were used like plate reverb however what they used was a very long roundabout version of getting the reverb. Compression was used as well. Mixes would sometimes have panning however they would be quite extreme as they couldn't quite control it as the technology wasnt quite available yet.
