Description:
Thomas Jefferson was the third president of the United States. He served two terms after support from Alexander Hamilton allowed him to defeat Aaron Burr and win the Election of 1800. He formed the Anti-Federalist Faction and later worked to establish the Republican Party. He supported slavery for economic reasons and valued the power of the individual states.
