Pahoran I (may 16, 116 BC – jul 30, 52 BC)

Description:

The son of Nephihah, Pahoran was a very righteous man. He succeeded his father as Chief Judge and held the position with the greatest of honor.
He became Chief judge just after the Morianton rebellion. Early in his reign he was challenged by the Kingmen, but refused to submit to them.
He was also the Chief Judge during the great war with Amalikiah and his brother, Ammoron.
In this war the Kingmen deposed him, and he fled to Gideon. But with the help of Moroni was restored and presided at the trials of the leaders of the Kingmen.
He also went out to battle with Moroni after the Kingmen were put down.

He spent the rest of his life in peace.

He died in the year 52, and based on other dates give I put his birth in 116.
This means his father was 19 when he was born, and that he lived to be 64 years old.
It also means that he was 49 when he became Chief Judge.

An interesting note: it is when Pahoran becomes Chief Judge that we are told about the Oath of Office that he had to take on being sworn in.
