Bacon's Rebllion (jan 1, 1676 – jan 1, 1677)

Description:

Bacon’s Rebellion was a rebellion lead by Nathaniel Bacon in Virginia that lead to Bacon’s laws, a series of laws that granted greater democratization of Virginia and greater representation regarding taxes. The rebellion would not have been able to happen if not for the settling of Jamestown, as it was burned during the rebellion. This rebellion foreshadows American’s desire for a form of democracy and their distain for taxes.
