Moronihah (nov 30, 80 BC – jul 31, 12 BC)
Description:
Son of Moroni, he took command of the armies of the Nephites when his father retired.
He was a righteous man and led the armies to many victories. However, it was in his time that the Nephites turned to wickedness and were driven by the Lamanites. They lost the city of Zarahemla as well as many others.
Moronihah not only led the armies, but joined in the ministry and preached to the people, drawing them back to repentance.
He was also the Chief Captain when the Gadianton Robbers formed and nearly destroyed the Nephites.
His death is not recorded, and so I estimate his life based on his father and other dates given.
I list his birth in 80, when his father was 19. This would make him 21 when he became Chief Captain.
I put his birth in year 12, making him 68 when he died.
