World War 1 was a war fought in Europe over the death of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, with almost every world power being involved. The United States was neutral until 1917, when Germany tried to convince Mexico to attack America. However, this message was intercepted, and forced America to join the war on the side of Britain and France.
