Oct 1989- East German reform Communists wanted to preserve socialism
Nov 1989- Kohl's 10-point plan for step-by-step German unification made, Alliance for Germany made as economic plan
Mar 1990- Alliance won nearly 50% of the vote in Eastern German election
July 1990- Kohl affirmed Germany's peaceful intentions and pledged never to develop nuclear, biological, or chemical weapons
Oct 1990- East Germany merged into West Germany
