Sherman marches to the sea, burning everythting on thte way to Charleston, preventing his men from pillaging, raping, or killing. IT was at this time that Sherman created the idea of 40 acres and a mule, which said that each free slave would be given 40 acres of land and a mule.Added to timeline:
